TRIOS Model #55-2, 55-3 - $180 
While vacationing in Asia, one of our designers happened upon a marketplace where a local craftsman was selling metal birdcages. Lovely as these items were, what fascinated him most were the innovative hinges on the doors of the cages. The thin metal wire of the cage wound around the door like a beautiful serpent, without a screw, clip or fastener to hold it in place. The simplicity of the design, combined with the beauty of the tightly coiled metal, inspired the hinges on our new Trios. Trios combine the understated elegance of the new hinge design with the sleek, streamlined gleaming metals of our high-end rimless models. In our version, the hinge bends under the lens mount, forming a naturally integrated "catch" which keeps the temple at the proper angle when the frames are open. Then, in a reverse of the Asian design, the temple circles above, then through the tightly wound rope-like coils of the lens mount. The resulting structure and shape subtly suggests ornamentation, but closer examination reveals the genius of the design. Trios certainly are frames that can be admired both on and off your face, as we in Focusers' Marketing Department have often been caught idly moving the temples back and forth, admiring the hinge for the beauty of it's form and the elegance of how it performs it's function. The name Trios itself is inspired by a musical term, and is suggestive of the harmony of design and materials embodied by these frames. Trios look great on the faces of stylish men and women. The premium stainless steel metals that we use allow the wearer to shape and adjust the temples to follow the contours of their head, for maximum comfort. As with our other high-end rimless frames, the temples are capped with our exclusive metal spheres, for a secure fit as you curl them about your ears. We offer Trios in gold plate or silver finish applied over premium stainless steel.
