These shiny black frames, with their rhythmic angles, and sense of self-satisfaction were first made prominent when worn by the musical inventor of BeBop, the brilliant jazz artist, Dizzy Gillespie. He used to complain to Charlie Parker ('The Bird") about not being able to find frames that expressed his inner cool, but then he encountered these, and the rest is history. The eyewear industry, in recognition of Dizzy Gillespie's gift of a new popular style of frames, bestowed on him the honor of naming the frames after his musical invention. Others soon caught the Bebop frames bug. You probably have seen these frames on the faces of writers, rock and roll stars, revolutionaries and bold thinkers of every stripe. Our BeBops are truly authentic. They are made from mold casted, metal reinforced, Zyl resins. The color is achieved by using European tincture and glaze to achieve the glint in the black.
